COskiing.com debuts for surfing skiers

A website devoted entirely to skiing and riding in Colorado was launched Monday by Alpinezone.com founder Greg Blasko.

The site — COskiing.com — provides ski resort information, news and features, ski reports and snow conditions, a message board, and lodging options for resorts across the state.

It is the first site to offer an online forum specific to Colorado, according to its creator.

“There simply aren’t any Colorado skiing or riding forums out there until now,” Blasko said in a news release. “Considering the popularity of Colorado snow sports, that simply amazes me.”

Currently, the site features two articles on Aspen/Snowmass — one focuses on Aspen Expeditions’ guided tours of the Highlands backcountry; the other is a holiday-season schedule for the four mountains.

Blasko envisions the site attracting a large following of members who can share ski reports and anecdotes and post digital photographs. Non-members can access the resort profiles, online reservations and current conditions pages, the last of which will be updated twice daily.

All of the site’s services are free.

“The inherent specificity of covering a smaller geographical region results in a tighter-knit community,” Blasko said. “That’s not something as easily achieved from a national site.”

Alpinezone.com has been a successful Northeastern skiing and hiking website; it’s entering its sixth year.
